I always thought my 9 foot long boa would be an excellent theft deterrent, sunning on my dash.
On topic, I'd like an intrusion/fuel monitor/remote temp monitor for my trailer. I occasionally go home under a load, but park my trailer a mile from the house, and I'd like to have it text me status and alarms. Perhaps a roll your own with an Arduino, a few sensors and a solar panel would do the trick. -
I dont see why a car alarm cant be used. The only thing is you would need to create a custom pig tail for the wiring harness. Just a random thought.

They have alarms for trucks. Complete with keyless remotes. Seen one go off to at a truckstop. Air horn blaring, lights flashing, horn honking. It made quite a racket until the guy figured out how to turn it off.
lovesthedrive Thanks this. -
Trick this truck installed a cool alarm complete with a beam sensor on the steps and a recorded barking dog. I think it was Bulldog Security or something like that.
But yes any alarm could be adapted to a truck. It's just added security added between the ignition switch and ECM. I'm sure they have one's with apps that call you.lovesthedrive Thanks this.
