I agree. Really good company with solid benefits. Also, you don’t have to pay anything for health insurance.

The past couple of years ltl companies have been hiring drivers right out of school. Problem right now is ltl has been extremely slow everywhere. Usually picks back up late spring early summer. That's when a lot of companies start to hire.

I think they filled the shuttle job I just left, but another guy internally I think applied and got it.

I regret not jumping onto XPO last summer, they had an academy near me.

I am itching for one around here to open.

If you stay put at your first CDL job for over a year....later on, you'll be glad you did...

As suggested above....the general freight market of late has tightened up.....especially depending on one's location.

With that trend in play (and it could obviously get worse, before it gets better), I don't think anyone wants to be the "new kid on the block"....if you don't really have to be.

Other drivers here on the Forum...have already been furloughed....& with considerably more driving experience...than the original poster in this thread.

Also....I've seen enough CDL job applications where one of the first questions reads something like, "How many jobs have you had in the past x years?"

Obviously....the lower the number you can honestly answer to that question....the better you look. Especially if you're competing with a lot of other qualified applicants later on...for a highly sought-after job.
