Just curious if any females have had any issues doing the 4 weeks otr with a male trainer. I have been searching these threads and I am not seeing much.
I did request female, but would consider male if the wait is going to be excessive for a female.
    Any thoughts, please share them.

some companies do not allow it. And also where are you only going to be out for 4 weeks with a trainer. most places it is at least 5-8 weeks. plus you have to figure in your trainer's home time.

I am due to start at Swift for their 3day orientation, and was advised 4 weeks with a trainer. I have the option for male/female.. I do not care either way as long as they do their job. I have faith these bigger Companies, (or any company for that matter) do not want any problems, and I trust they only put those who can be professional in a transgender training situation.

I believe the recruiter said 240 training hours.
No big deal if it is more that 4 weeks. I have nothing but time. I welcome all the training I can get.

I was just curious how others made out.

You have to actually drive for 240 hours, that can take from 5-7 weeks.

I just spent 4 weeks with a "trainer" and there was nothing professional about him. He was in it for the money and didn't care who knew it. There was a lot of driving and very little training. I wouldn't be so trusting about the professionalism if I were you.

There are a lot of great professionals out there but there are some real idiots too. Just because they are called "trainer" doesn't mean they aren't from the second category. When it is your word against his, you don't always win just because you are right.

You will probably be fine with a male, just don't trust that the company has weeded out the idiots.

The first thing you need to learn in trucking is NOBODY is honest and wants what is best for YOU !!! Your own mother would lie to if she was your dispatcher to get a load moved !

I am not tying to be an arse but this a hurray for me and screw you world that you are walking into . They will chew you up and spit you out if you don't watch out for your self .

There is not one mega company out there that want you to succeed if it cost them anything at all . You are there for one thing and that is to make THEM money . They will work you like a rented mule and toss you aside the first time you don't jump when they play the fiddle !!!

I hope you get a good trainer and not on that just wants a codriver to make his check bigger .

I wish you all the luck in the world and welcome to our little price of the American dream !!

Just remember they aren't kissing you because they love you the are kissing because they are fixing to put the screws to you !!!

It's a crapshoot, either with a male or female.

What every you get stuck with, dont ever feel you need to play the birds bees games with anybody. Let admin know in a hurry if you have any problems of that nature.

With that being said, If I was a trainer. Being a male I dont think I would ever be able to let my guard down with a female. I would always feel on edge, like I was going to be accused of something. But, I guess that's just the way it is these days.
