    I know you're supposed to own your own, however am hoping to find an opportunity where one is at least temporarily provided. I've tried numerous searches and calls in the past and didn't find any.

    Say for several months or more so I can apply my saved wages to buying or leasing my own hot shot truck and trailer.

    Does anyone have any place to refer that may help with that? I'm really hurting to get into that type of job, happy to drive serious hours. I have no family and no need to be home so I'm happy to be on the road! Clear records on everything.

    Guess the two questions are;

    Where are you located, or want to be home location.

    Why hot shot. If you have a CDL what’s wrong with being in a semi truck?

    If you don’t have a CDL, you’re probably not going to find much opportunity in either case.

    Thanks for your reply. I should have given more info on location but didn't as I'm very flexible.

    I'm in TX now, DFW. But I'll drive to signup with and work from most states.

    I do not have a CDL yet. For certain reasons I'm assuming for Hot Shot much more than big rig, although I'm totally open to and actually prefer long distance driving. OTR

    Please advise if you have any leads.

    Thanks.
    Question, why is it stated in places online that people without CDL can acquire a hot shot job when it appears it's not possible?

    I'll drive anything, I just want a job and to make good money until I can buy my own Hot Shot setup. I'll drive a Sprinter or other van, box truck, car for courier, whatever. I simply want multiple states long distance at a minimum if not more.
    I don't understand why there aren't Hot Shot jobs with truck provided when there are plenty of OTR Semi jobs that provide trucks??

    Many hot shot drivers out there with no cdl and it's legal.
    One driver on here converted a horse trailer to a van trailer and stays busy hauling freight.
    I don't remember his screen name.
