Contacted recruiter and they offering linehaul at.65cpm seems good on paper. But I keep seeing mixed reviews but older threads. Just seeing anyone who give me information.

They seem fine. I did complain in another thread about their sluggishness in following up on my application, but they did eventually get back to me. I ended up not choosing them because they were taking too long so I already accepted another offer while they were still taking their time. But apart from that everything seems fine from my research.

I worked for them 30 years ago, and they were OK. well established, several terminals plenty of freight. They did "marry" KLLM a few years back and not sure who gives the orders. And not sure how they are today (2024)

I would ask them what other pay is involved besides CPM?.....:
    • breakdown pay: how much per hour & when does it start -- immediately, after 1st hour, or what?
    • detention pay -- if you have to wait on a trailer to be loaded, how much per hour, & when does it start -- immediately, or after 1st hour, or what?
    • inclement weather pay -- if you are forced to stop (as an example) for icy roads, then what (if any)?
    • how much are you paid (if any) for each time you change/swap trailers (or is that unpaid work)?
    • how much are you paid (if any) for vacation time?
Also: what areas/lanes will you be running? How much of it is in the northeast (or is that all of it)? Any NYC? If NYC -- is there a mileage pay increase -- & what is it?

    Who/where are your backhauls?

If you are expected to go into risky areas to pick up freight (at odd hours) -- now is the time to find that out.

I understand this good info on new drivers. But I was looking for more reviews. The few I've seen on here were mixed and pretty old reviews was hoping to find a few recent info on them

Not sure on how they are now. Back in 1997 I started my carrier in trucking with Lisa Motor Lines (owned by FFE). Loved them, plenty of freight, always on the go. The FFE guys were running good miles, but not happy with the quality of life with the company. Seems like too much micro management. Other FFE drivers loved it there. As of 2024 I cant give you an honest answer. The business has changed from what it used to be.

Mind that you will be pulling reffer. Decent moving freight, everyone has to eat, so it always moves. The downside of reefer is the loading docks. Long load/unload times depending on where you go. The pro to that is you can grab your 10 in the dock. Just have to know how to play the logbook. Some places you will go just suck. Tight docks, lumpers, bad areas of town. If you can adapt to that life, its not the worst. Ive done it along with flatbed. Been off the road since 2018, so take it as it is.

I saw FFE is linehaul? It seems like a decent gig. I’m looking for info on them as well

I would call them up. Do you have a CDL? If not, they provide training. If you go that route, hang with them a couple of years then go on to another company. As long as you have a good driving record, you will be good.

According to Indeed and Google reviews. They seem to be a fairly decent company. Mostly positive. A few negative, but you cant make everyone happy. Go through the reviews and make your own decision from there.

2 1/2 years experience and if your record is good, you should be good to go wherever you want. Like I said, call them up and see if they are a good fit for you.

I dont have any recent experience with them. You can read one of my post above about them above.
