Is this a brand new Mike? I can't find anything on specs for this mic that says it supports talk back. As far as I know, it's the same ceramic mic as the Astatic D104-M6. With the road devil having red plastic enclosure instead of black. The only trim pot in these microphones is there to adjust the gain of the eletret mic element only. No talk back.

I own a D104-M6b, bought back in 2011, it's basically brand new, I never used it in the truck I drove. I didn't really care for the bulky square design for some reason. Later I bought an Ranger SRA 198, modified the mic amp in the cobra 25 I was using. It sounded great.

The bottom picture is the internal circuit of the Astatic D104 mikes that I created on a perf board. I always thought these mics sounded like they had a little too much base. I think it's due to the 3300uh choke they use. Of course these microphones are famous for a scratchy or noisy PTT switch. I ordered a couple of switches that are suppose to be better quality wise. I've never used them since I haven't used the mic enough to develop this noisy problem. Maybe someday....
