I currently drive for Barr Nunn as part of the 18 day fleet and it is a very stable job. Making more money consistently on a weekly basis after taxes than I ever had. Low range weekly paychecks are 700 dollars, mid range is 1,100'ish and high range is 1,300'ish (after taxes) as a solo OTR company driver.
But just as Wilson Logistics is a company known to push their drivers towards being a lease operator, Barr Nunn will never admit this but they push their drivers to be team drivers. I have 55k miles of experience team driving and I will never do that again. I prefer the peace that comes with being alone on the road and alone in my truck haha. Barr Nunn is consistently giving me low miles per load despite being paid .67/mile. This is because most loads with this company pickup and deliver on the same day and many times I have to turn down a load with a lot of juicy miles on it because my delivery appointment is midnight, and I don't have enough time left on my 11hr clock after delivery to find a place to park because all truck stops and rest areas are overflowing by then. many times I'm forced to bobtail to a place to park just to FIND a place to park, then pickup an empty after my 10hr reset because of this.
Crete Carrier in their dry van, 21 day fleet is offering me .64/mile starting out but is telling me I'll be getting 2,000-3,000 miles a week. I'm the kind of guy who lives out of his truck to avoid wasting money on rent/mortgage because I plan on buying a house outright in the future. Recruiter is also telling me that each load tends to have longer runs that involve a 10hr reset along the way to delivery which solves my "struggling to have enough time left after delivery to find a place to park/shutdown for 10 hours".
I've talked both to a recruiter on the phone at Crete Carrier and so far managed to meet a Crete Carrier solo company OTR driver in the 21 day fleet at a truck stop yesterday and he backed up what the recruiter told me.
But I need more data before I make the decision to apply for Crete.
1. Anyone work for Crete as a solo OTR company driver in their 21 day dry van fleet in this forum? If so, what do your paychecks look like on a consistent basis AFTER taxes? I'm trying to get a good picture of what the low range, mid range and high range paychecks look like before I make the move. So far I only got one example from one driver.
2. Is their equipment trash? Do you find yourself in the shop a lot over their tractors or trailers?
3. Do they give you long runs on your loads which forces you to have a 10hr reset along the way to pickup or delivery so that you don't have the problem I have where I have barely any time to find a place to park after I deliver a load?
4. I stick to the east coast with my loads with Barr Nunn. But Crete says I'll go back to driving all 48 continental united states like I did with Wilson which is great, but how often will they send a solo driver to Washington state? Asking because that state many times can be a nightmare to find a place to park. Truck stops are always full there no matter the time of day. I jokingly call Washington State the "team driver" state haha.
Any solo company OTR drivers for Crete Carrier? Considering making the move to them.

just talked to another crete driver. first one i forgot to ask his cents per mile. second one he said .70/mile but he has been with crete 19 years. he showed me pay stubs of 1,100.00-1,700/week after taxes. now gotta see what .64/mile looks like because thats what the recruiter said he will start me out at

I thought Barr Nunn was one of the better-paying companies? $1300 sounds a little low. I was making more at a mega solo dry van fairly often.
