Hey all. I'm new to the world of laptops and finally decided to get away from the year end receipt fiasco and get organized. However, I'm not sure of software out there that is feasible. I'm looking for something that i can do a daily accounting for expenses that will allow me to print off a report without having to spend hours with the books and a calculator. Another plus if it can show mileage for the year and revenue. I don't need ifta reports or logging stuff per say. I'd like top be able to put in customer info such as directions too. Is there anything like that on the market or am I just dreaming?
any thoughts on software for truckers for taxes?

Quickbooks Pro. Starting out its best to pay accounant knoledgable in trucking to ensure your chart of accounts are set properly so all info is accutate. Your bank can help also. Most major banks post directly through your quickbooks. No more paper wads and you can start simple then take it to Bth degree if you like.

I have always used an accountant and will continue to. The software is really just to help me keep it organized see where my monEy is going. Done it for years with a multiple file and an expense book but I'm not liking hours it takes me to add all of it up as I generally procrastinate until February before I start going thru my receipts.lol

Pat on back out to you. I think you'll go far and wish you well. You arent the last one standing with cardboard...i'm wading through many others stilll. Being able to control your immedate and long term business in less time than it takes to find folder shows sound jugement. Now back to my paper piles of others lol

I saw a scanner once I wanted to get but it was like $300, you just scan the receipts and it organizes for you and puts stuff into categories, I might look into it again and see if they still sell them. I never do itemized deductions so I dont bother with keeping that stuff but would like to keep track if what I spend over the year so I can shake my head lol. With kids and stuff its easier for me to just do the standard deductions plus im not an o/o yet.
