Hi! Im going to be starting my 2 week orientation on Oct. 31. I've heard nothing but great things about TMC. But before I go with them I would like to get an idea of how much home time I would be getting if I went with TMC. My recruiter has told they would be getting me home most weekends so I would like to hear from actual TMC drivers how often they get home. Also, how well is the pay with loads coming to MA on weekly average. I want to get an idea of what my income will be if Im running a 5 day work week. Any additional info helps! Thanks!

Best of luck to you. I see TMC all over 95 in CT.

I really can't speak much for MA, but I do know (both from northeasters and my own experience runming the northeast) that IF you play the game right (that is, run hard and be smart about your HOS), on average you can make better $$ in the northeast and still be home weekly. But of course that's more for PA/CT/NY and such. Mass is HD/DC Central (Home Depot Distribution Center) and those loads, hate to say it, SUCK. Theres two I'm aware of, one in Norwood, just south of Boston, and one over in Westfield (?), and one not even 20 miles from the southern border in Bloomfield CT. Beyond that, I don't know of too many shippers up there beyond lumber yards (which up there really don't pay the best).

But that's just my experience...someone else may chime in with a different POV.

(FWIW, my northeast running was mainly PA/NY/NJ/CT & some VA...didn't do too much Mass except for those DCs, but sure drove thru Mass a whole lot en route from Bloomfield CT to HDs in central upstate NY, mainly in the general vicinity of Syracuse.)

Look into the dedicated accounts we have in MA, there is a Lowes and a Home Depot.

How would I do that? Talking to my recruiter, or is there somewhere online where I can research TMC's dedicated routes?

Since I am coming on as an unexperienced driver, I dont know if they would allow me to work on those dedicated accounts. I was told that I would be doing Line Haul, from which I understand is just longer miles to farther states (Correct me if I am wrong).

Yes you might have to do line haul for a while till a spot opens up on an account , but with line haul you will make good money and still be home almost every weekend . talk to your recruiter !

Ok that doesnt sound too bad. What about their Rider program. Do you think TMC is strict on their immediate family policy? And will i be able to bring my girlfriend? We arent legally married but weve been together for a few years. Wondering if that might be a an issue with them...

Yes they are very strict with their rider policy and all of the rules in general. tmc is a good company if you can follow their rules. if you play their game and do things how they want you too you will be very successful and make good scratch too .
