Hey everyone, I’m a college student doing an entrepreneurial project involving the trucking industry.
I’m looking to speak with a few current truck drivers for a quick conversation/questionnair about your experience on the road and personal opinions on a few different matters.
Nothing sales-related and no personal information needed. I’m just looking for honest opinions from people in the industry to test feasibility of a project.
If you’re willing to help, please dm me. I’d really appreciate it!
Any truckers here willing to answer a couple questions?

I've been off the road for a few years but if that works for you I'm willing to answer some questions.

If there was only a forum where someone could just engage in questions and answers with real-life truckers. Oh well, maybe one day technology will catch up and make this all a reality.

So, what are you waiting for?

One of them involve Milo’s Sweet Tea and an R model Mack? Or is that @High Stepper ?Deere hunter, D.Tibbitt, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this.

I would have been the 120th largest leasing company. My dream was to run single axle R models, 2.73 rear with a 300 and a 5 speed and pull oversized.
It all came to a head when Milo's was unavailable and we switched to Red Diamond. The refined sugar burned hotter causing the trucks to wheelie all the time. The increase in power came at a cost, fuel mileage went from 15 mpg to 10.mpg with anything over 165,000 lbs.
And I was having to get alignments and tires when the drivers were slamming the front ends down. It was fun while it lasted though. @ElmerFudpucker was my top driver and he made enough in one year to buy a 1987 Mercury Capri and paid cash for a trip to Graceland and a suite at the Heartbreak Hotel.OLDSKOOLERnWV, austinmike, RockinChair and 10 others Thank this. -
I made a lot of money that year. I found my third wife on that trip. Barbra Jean. Fond memories.
the dealership said they never had anyone pay in S&H green stamps, but FoMoCo was running a special in march of 86. Trying to pump up orders for the 87 model year.
Diesel Dave, OLDSKOOLERnWV, austinmike and 12 others Thank this.
