    thanks

I was looking for info from employees versus the info on the website . I was given a job offer by them but I’m not sure that I want to live in a truck again unless it’s worth it .

I’m Arkansas regional, and very happy with it. I generally leave around noon on Sunday and return around noon on Friday. I can usually get home through the week, if I want. Pay and benefits are great! Any specific questions?

If I were interested in driving for Tyson or any company, my specific questions would be:

#1. Pay… how much? And how many miles, about, per week? Forget the baloney that so many people like to tell themselves about pay not being everything… pay is everything.. anything else is a distant second. If anyone tells you otherwise, tell them to do volunteer work, specifically, driving a truck.

#2. Benefits… again, how much and what is covered for health insurance?

#3. Read driver reviews about your chosen company (including on this truckers forum); are there consistant, negative remarks? Pay attention… and take the rebuttals against those negative driver reviews with a grain of salt; company schills are a dime a dozen (notice it’s always the same people, over and over) and are actually empowering unfair and unsafe behavior by these large trucking companies.

I can only speak to my experience and fleet. We have about a thousand different options for drivers, and they’re all different in one way or another. Pay is mid sixty cent range with per diem. Drop pay is 35 dollars, and it’s almost all drop and hook. Layover/breakdown is 100, and can be stacked to adp. We have employee stock purchase and 401k with employer match. Insurance is inexpensive and coverage is excellent. It’ll take a recruiter to break it down more. I’m not one.

I asked the recruiter about detention pay and they said that they have none.

I know you guys make pretty good money, but not having detention pay with a reefer company is odd to me . But she also told me that with the regional job it’s 90% drop and hook between Phx and LA .

Is $85k realistic for the regional position ? That was the number she gave me

That’s the bottom end. I get closer to 97, and 100 is not unrealistic. Detention is available, but not a policy. You will be paid if held up too long.

Wow ,that’s great to hear .

I’m most likely going to accept their offer and I’ll update this thread as time goes on if I get hired .
