Anybody have good info on DOT Foods (DTI)

    Any one on here work for DOT Foods. Wondering what there CPM range is and how physical their touch freight is. TIA for any info

    You’d need to reach out to recruiting, for an accurate pay scale. They regularly receive pay raises for mileage and the accessorial pays. If you’re willing to keep at it, no-touch, you should see $100K by your 2nd year. If you go CDS, you’ll have a better schedule (most likely a dedicated gig) and easily see over $100K your 1st year.

    CDS has varying levels of physicality, depending on your customer, their order, how the load was picked/put together. I’ve had loads where the order was picked and separated on most of the items’ own pallets. 70+ pallets on a load is not uncommon. That might sound horrible. However, the selector actually saves the driver by having most of it ready to be simply downstacked and scanned by the receiver. Generally speaking, when a driver comes out of training, they might get sent to a few different customers until Dot can get them fit into a dedicated customer/routine. Once that happens, that ends up being their dedicated account, the drivers usually get integrated into the customer’s dock system, and can end up having their forklift to use, etc. Not always, though. Dot just wants for drivers to get used to a specific customer and their loads and for there to be a relationship between them. Usually, the CDS drivers will have fairly consistent backhauls, as well.

    My buddy is a no-touch driver, has a dedicated account that lumpers unload, has two different regular backhauls, and does fill-in work to finish his week. He’s ~$110K, home every weekend, and leaves Sunday afternoon. I have another buddy who is CDS, ~$120K, dedicated account, same backhaul, and does fill-in work when he gets back. He’s Sunday afternoon-Friday, too.

    Training pays $1350/week, plus one bought meal per day.

    Just know, they have inward AI cameras.

    Never worked for them though I am considering it. When I was a receiving clerk at Dean Foods many years ago we got a lot of DOT trucks. The drivers were always upbeat and talking the company up.

    I worked for them years ago, I worked out of their drop yard in SoCal but reported to the Modesto hub, I don’t know how it is now but they took care of you more than any trucking company I’ve ever worked for. For example when my truck would need a pm every quarter they would have me drive up to Modesto and when I got there they gave me keys to a minivan and got me a very nice hotel room each time.
    One time I went to New York because my grandpa was dying and they called me saying they saw on the news that a snow storm was about to hit New York so they told me they covered my route just in case and told me I could stay a few more days

    for your yearly anniversary they let you pick out actual good stuff from a catalog not the useless crap garbage my current company offers (I don’t even get anything from them) I still have two very nice jackets from dot (I know that sounds kinda lame but I trash every clothing item from every other company I worked for as soon as I no longer work for them)

    they really take care of you, pay is good and most importantly they treat you well. Like I said I’ve worked for a lot of trucking companies as not only a driver but as management and dot was the most decent one and actually took care of their drivers hopefully it’s still like that
