Sheetz posted a new job offering and I'm wondering how the shift / pay works.

Pay starts above $30hr and it says 4 day work weeks but I've heard its 3 days on 2 days off?

Also how many hours do you avg on 4 days (can you work 5?) and is there OT?

I have a twic card, haz and tanker + 2 years of experience and I'm looking to get hired into their CLI training program

    Where are you located, approx?

The last time I saw a Sheetz ad like that--it was for dry van duty, delivering goods to their stores.

The tanker (fuel) jobs are/were not a 4-day-per-week gig.

Sheetz has much better than average reviews on Indeed.com.

    Plus--it's a private fleet position.

I think there is OT--starts after 40 hours.

But ask about that with the recruiter, to make sure.

    I say--go for it.

If you don't like something you see/learn while interviewing--you can always walk away from it.

On the ad its says 4 days but a driver on youtube said he runs 3 on 2 off.

It seems like the top pay / best spot to be tbh (compared to other local fuel competitors)

Source one, bandys, penn tank, etc start at $25 / hour but sheetz is above $30.

They use to require 4 years of exp (they still do) but they have this new "training" position that only requires 2 years, they actually just posted it 3 days ago and I applied today. I'm qualified and hope I get the job!

My goal was to start at another fuel gig and switch to them in the future but now it's looking like I can start with them. Most sheetz are ez anyway and wide open for drops.

Appreciate the help and info, I'll update if I get hired on!

More than likely it’s 12 hour shifts

That's what I'd guess, split the day with another driver. I don't mind it at all tbh, especially right now while Im young. I'd rather do that then food service

    @LeGendofSeven --

Before you interview with Sheetz, note that....

Fuel hauling positions are usually seniority-based.

That means that it's likely you will start out there delivering on nights, weekends, and also on holidays. :(

Also: you will probably be "slip seating" a daycab rig with another driver.

If the other driver is a slob....then this arrangement could very well suck.

Depending on the customer base--many fuel deliveries are in smaller parking lots....where you as the driver are just too "up close and personal" with the rest of the driving public (aka, idiots) as you go about your delivery.

Despite the fact that the store really can't stay open long without fuel--you (somehow) are in everyone else's way.

In your area, you will spend part of your time scraping/sweeping snow and/or ice off of each store's fuel drop lids, too.

The above....combined with long wait times (potentially) at the fuel terminals....are why fuel jobs are almost always available.....to those willing to put up with all that.

Thus...the pay for hauling fuel is usually pretty good....BUT....you will indeed earn it.

However--if you haul for a private fleet....like Sheetz....there are usually fewer headaches, and more perks....with the job. Also...usually better maintained...and newer, better-looking equipment.

Yea it sucks but I'm willing to work nights and weekends just to start. Also most sheetz are wide open and away from the city limits so I won't have to deal with alot of tight turning

This is correct -- most private fleet rigs deliver to larger, wider parking lots...where the fuel drops are often on one side, and the pumps are on the other. So you do get some honest segregation from most of the idiot motoring public.

However--your employer at some point may start delivering to other non-Sheetz stores. As a Sheetz driver--your rig is basically a rolling advertisement for the chain--and so it's a common tactic for private fleets to deliver to other than their own stores.

If/when that happens--it's "pot luck" for whatever you may then encounter. Be ready. o_O
