I was just curious if anyone knows off-hand on anyone at any truck stop who will turn up speed limiters ? I know I've heard in the past that there was some guys out there but can't remember what truck stops they were at...Also, any idea what they were charging ? thanks
Anyone know of anyone at truck stops who turn up governors ?

There's a spot in Effingham, IL, maybe the exit where the Petro is...... do what you do, but if it's a company truck your driving, it could cost you your job. Just a disclaimer.
Wargames, FearTheCorn, Tb0n3 and 6 others Thank this. -
If you own the truck, you can get the software to do it yourself for pretty cheap and its useful for other things. Just be smart about it and dont put a truck with 3.72 gearing and an 1800 limit to 80mph. If its the company truck and you turn it up. Well good luck with that, ive seen guys fired for it. Even worked with one dude who turned their 55mpg rig to 85, got in a wreck and then got sued by both the family AND the company and lost big time.
Wargames, Lonesome, gentleroger and 1 other person Thank this. -
Surprised that guy hasn't wound up in court for the above mentioned.Wargames, High Stepper and tscottme Thank this.

Because he only accepts cash iirc and there is no legal papertrail to link the two. And even if there was. All he gots to say is he was told by the trucker that he (trucker) owned the truck and was just leased onto X company.
Hell im leased onto bones and 99% of the time i just tell them i own the truck and thats the end of it for the same reason. Only had one guy call B.S.and actully call bones and claim they had a driver trying to do an end run around them to hide damage.
Before you ask, seagull vs mirror. I aint sure who won that round tbh, but i deffo lost.Gearjammin' Penguin and Oxbow Thank this. -
He just changes parameters, that's about it. Has no idea about tuning. Good luck to those that find a source of income at the expense of fools.
beastr123, Oxbow and Arctic_fox Thank this. -
I aint defending him far from it. Just answering why he aint been sued yet. Its a case of too little direct involvment.Wargames, blairandgretchen and Oxbow Thank this.

The dealership can raise or remove the speed governor if it’s your truck. Sometimes they will only go 75 though to match the speed rating on the tires.

how cheap is “pretty cheap”? I might be interested in that. (MX-13 motor)

Depends on how indepth you want to get. Proper davie 4 has come down a lot. But its still 2.5-3k a year for dealer level software because #### paccar.
Detroit, cummins, volva, cat ect. Around $300-600 a year for that level of access. Cummins even gives you the repair guides.
But paccar likes to bend you over because paccar.
