Thinking about working for ATS once I have my more recent 6 months experience (or if I should just stay at my current so-so company for a full year and then go to Cox Transfer), but I am mostly curious about their Midwest regional dry van fleet. I mostly know ATS as a flatbed company with lots of owner ops; didn't even know they pulled vans until I checked their website. Does anyone know about the van side there? Is it like the red-headed stepchild of the company, or is it decent? Any insights into the equipment and the hometime there?

I can't answer your questions about ATS, but @Walk Among Us might know.

I did drive for Cox from 2015-2018 and thoroughly enjoyed working there. I would not hesitate to go back. I only left because I relocated outside of their operating area.

Cox and Outwest are one company now but I forget the name they're under. I wonder if they're still as good. They definitely look the part.

I don't have any info about ATS dry van fleet. I think it's like a lot of companies where a negative review or a bad experience can also depend on the driver. I will tell you ATS flatbed has been truthful and reliable about pay. Also the orientation pay and the guaranteed pay in your first month. They do pay exactly what they promised. That's something that my highly respected and reputable last company stopped doing after they got bought out by TFI. They literally lied about pay and hid new pay cuts.. So I left. I followed a friend over to ATS and I'm getting used to it. I never get bothered by safety or HR or anyone in operations. I'm able to do what I need and the money is better than what the TFI flatbed companies are paying in 2025. Dryvan make a little less as you probably knew.. they get the same newer model trucks and sometimes you get a brand new one. I don't regret going to ATS. I think you won't either.

I used to always run into the same dry van ATS driver through Milwaukee up to Chicago daily for an entire year, he was in a black cascadia, dude was incredibly rude, always running people off the road.. Big on the good luck everyone else my turn signal is on vibe.

trailers werent in the best shape either, so it gave me the impression they only run their dry van lanes to keep the contract and dont profit off it.

I don't know anything about that... Are we talking about the same Cox? I know there's a couple different ones. I was referring to Cox Transfer in Eureka Illinois.

Cox is a large company. I prefer smaller outfits.

Therefore, I am not a fan of big Cox.

How did I do? Please tip your wait staff. :)
