Hey guys, I know I'm probably gonna get roasted here. I've been looking through a lot of the threads, and I see a lot of people saying dispatchers are useless and that owner-operators just want to handle everything themselves. If a dispatching company was able to find you better opportunities and make you more money on the road. while helping you with paperwork as well. Why would you not want a service like that? I know a lot of people do use dispatchers. I just don't understand why there's so much hate.

But what if this dispatching company could? I mean dang, have you been burned by a dispatcher?

No dispatch service could. Who are your customers, where do you get your contacts?

I already have them, and know them.

Ok, that's great for you. Good job you're probably a great businessman and trucker, but i'm sure not everyone else that is an owner-operator or fleet owner is. Let's just say this dispatching company has clients, NOT customers. They make connections with dispatchers and give their clients the best loads that never even make it to the load board. On top of that, they do a whole lot of other things that don't even fall under 'dispatching' to help their clients have a more profitable and easier life on the road.

I was a trucker, and I know what it feels like to have bad dispatchers. They led me into rainstorms & snowstorms, had me sitting for days (in the middle of nowhere), and I can barely even tell what they're saying, when they make a mistake their phone suddenly doesn't work. I'm just saying, what if this dispatching company was different and actually cared about their clients? On top of that, no matter what time their clients called, they would call back ASAP or pick up immediately.

Not every dispatching company has to be the villain just trying to take your money.

    Why have a middle man?

A dispatcher is for a company hand or a guy leased to a carrier with their own freight not an independent. Why would I let anyone negotiate my rates? Decide where I’m going? Or worse play back and forth with me and a broker?

Quickest way to go outta business is let someone else run it

Why would anyone pay to do what you can do yourself. You need to make relationships, not someone else.

How much $$ for all this service? How do you get paid? You get paid and then pay the driver?

Ok, well, what if this dispatching company only brings you loads that match your preferences, and they only book a load after they have confirmed you accept it? On top of that, you can still book your own loads, if you do, there is no fee. They only charge you on the loads they give you.

What if they're really good at negotiating rates? Also, wouldn't it be helpful to have someone constantly communicating with the broker, if needed, while you manually run your own business?

Well, I'm not advertising anything.... but let's just say this dispatching company only charged 4% of each dispatched load.
