I'd like to consider myself fairly healthy....I may get sick like about every year and a half to two years.....
So far this is what I've caught:
In one month with my OTR trainer I got food poisoning....
In my first month on my own so far I've gotten sick not once but twice...I've also got some round red spot on the bottom of my foot....And I've gotten a rash that has broken out over my left shin up to my knee.
Are germs and diseases running rampant at truckstops ??

The simple answer is yes.
Best to keep things like sanitizer wipes and spray to use.
Food related illnesses are the number one reason people get sick. It can be very serious for some.
It can be as little as 4 hours to as much as 7 days depending on the type.rabbiporkchop and motocross25 Thank this. -
That's not truck stops.
That's you.
You need to see a doctor. -
I'd clean your truck.

The food poisoning is not a shocker by any means. I’m going to dare say if you ate at any buffet, especially a truck stop buffet, that’s where it happened. All the hands that’ve been god knows where all handling the same serving spoon then you sit down and eat. Yucko. As for the foot thing, do you wear sandals or shower shoes in the shower? If not, start. And as far as eating if you got a fridge in your truck stock it up dude. You know where that food has been, how it was temperature controlled, how it was prepared, and that you (hopefully) washed your hands before making it.

Seriously though, I'd have that spot on your foot examined, pronto.
Food poisoning is so common these days with restaurant employees being careless with food temperature and what not. I don't consider myself to have encountered food poisoning unless it hits me really hard, and thankfully that hasn't happened in a while.
And sharing a tractor means sharing germs. Get yourself some Clorox wipes and use 'em up. Steering wheel, door handles, fridge, everywhere. -
Maybe he's driving the "Werner trainer craps himself" truck
Could be your truck seriously, if a nasty 375 pound umpa lumpa who never bathed had the truck before you.rabbiporkchop, Lumper Humper, BlueThunderr and 2 others Thank this. -
You might still have stuff from trucking school. In boot we called it recruit crud. I got a little sick after I got home from CRE trucking school too. You'll be alright. Just keep yourself clean.
Farmerbob1 and BlueThunderr Thank this.
