Pre-planning has a lot to do with where you can accomplish this. Your lodging is the major cost in retirement. If you have no mortgage or rent, your money goes a lot farther each month.

    Good advice.
If a person plans to relocate at retirement, then buy a place well in advance of retirement and rent it out until the day you plan to move there.
