On the CRST million mile sticker, he had to have bought it on e-bay lol

I was at a rest area I-30 just inside AR frm TX today, sat there having diner and watching a bob tail driver, get out of his rig, with a big pail, dressed in long shiny gray shorts below his knees, bar of soap and a towel, walk up to an outside water faucet, and take a bucket bath in front of about 50 truck drivers and 4 wheelers. Part of me felt bad for him, but in his country it may have been normal, don't know what he is going to due when there is snow on the ground. lol

Down loading that one off the dash cam.

My numbers are flashing 3165 for the week, plus the extra $60. in fees, and 5 drop and hooks=not bad!

Will be home Sat afternoon, back out Monday

Well headed to Pepsi Columbia SC, 500 mile run, out of the home, drop and hook and they let me set my own schedule for the pick up and drop, will have it all finished on Monday. These loads can be a problem, so they arrive in one piece, they due have to be worked on sometimes with some creative strapping and applied dunage. LOL

Usually get a second assignment or another backhaul between 2-4 pm same day EST, they haven't been to bad about that.

And if I do not have an assignment by then, I just call in and ask for one---usually works if I am hanging without one, by about 4pm.

I have noticed that back hauls that handle Advance market south to Atlanta, has shown a habit of Dispatch and run, that is they set the dispatch up to go out about the time they call it quits for the day, so when you get the dispatch and some thing may be wrong with it and you want to talk to the dispatch person that set you up, they are gone for the day a lot of the time. LOL

I call that Dispatch and run! LOL

That's why I call them about 1/2 hr before they bolt for the day which is usually 1630 EST, if I do not have a dispatch lined up for the next part of the trip.

Either that of they just don't do it at all. Another week starts and no plan. Sit and wait till 0900 until someone is there to give me something. No excuse not to be planned and ready to go Monday morning when they had all day Friday and Saturday to do it. I know there are plenty of loads sitting there on the yard. That puts me at noonish before I get off the yard today.

Well I'm waiting till 9am Monday before I can even ask what I'm doing for the week. Again. Took a different approach and started working them yesterday into today about what I'd be planned on for Monday and all I get is call Monday. I'm almost always one of the last ones off the yard Monday. I realize I'm pretty low on the seniority list but there are plenty of loads there. Talked to Dustin about it couple weeks ago and he said there's absolutely no excuse to not know what I'm doing Monday before I go home for the weekend. Guess I'm just gonna have to push it up the ladder a rung or 2 and see why it isn't happening. I haven't been getting off the yard until noonish every Monday and that just wastes 7hrs of the first day of the week and puts me looking for late night parking right out of the gate.

It it always evens out by the end of the week but if I reset at 5am Monday I like to be off the yard no later than 6. That's frustrating and still hard to get used to having to wait to get my week started. In the scheme of things it's a minor annoyance and just my preference of how I like to run but on the other hand almost everyone else is planned and gone when I get there and already in way before I get back so it's not like the loads aren't there.

2980 and 5 drops for the week. Still a good week. Advance to Richmond to advance to concord to Arcadia to oakdale to Pittsburgh to kings mountain to advance. Pittsburgh was a little interesting lol #### tight getting in and out. I can't really complain about anything other than being frustrated over the difficulty in getting that first load out. I'm running better lanes, the pay is sure better and once I do get rolling for the week I don't sit.

Mine's in getting serviced as well. He was looking for it when I came in to get it squared away for winter.

Has Dustin looked into it, he knows everyone up there, I would poke a little and find out?

If you are loaded in ADVANCE for loads, I would like to hear the reason why and from who?

Dustin should call for you or give you the person to talk to, this company has an open door policy.

I got my Monday load about 1430 Friday, then had them change it because of the length of time the service is going to take on Monday.

If that's the habit they are in on ya, I hope you are not going in until after the load is assigned.

Oh I'm not lol I sit right here at the house until I'm assigned on something. I'm not driving 40 minutes down there until I know I'm going.

He he did look into it and said they assured him they'd get on it. That was the one week I was planned on Friday. Then right back to hurry up and wait on 9am Monday to call in. He's been gone last 2 weeks but soon as he gets back we're going to discuss it again. He said when we talked before that if I wasn't being planned Friday for Monday someone in Arcadia wasn't holding up their end of the deal. I had asked for suggestions as to anything I should be doing to help the process and he said I shouldn't have to do anything they should be planning everyone no later than Saturday for Monday.

Im sure some of it is that I'm just new and getting worked into the system and they're learning me as I'm learning them. as you said you had the same issues initially but I think I'm showing them now that I can handle it and run hard and get it done. I ran my clock down under 10 minutes every day this week and 2 days had 1 minute left when I pulled the brakes lol that's cutting it a little close but if you can plan good it works out

Well that's good, not going in until you get dispatch, do you know who the dispatcher is that handles your out bound frm ADVANCE and have you tried to talk to them?

I would go in, in the beginning for me, and put myself on the clock, then tell them my clock was ticking, that did seem to help, but war off after they figured it out, but worked for a while. LOL

Ya on the clock thing when you figure out the area, you can run it down, I have been at 0 a few times, and a couple 2-3 mins over, I would just call safety and just let them know it was weather or traffic related and it has been, before they called me, as long as it is not a daily thing, they under stand and wont hit you over the head. They do not get the auto notice until you run over 2 mins, then then get an auto e-mail to there phone on the hip--

Been so close to running out, I have been told you could stop about 1/2 mile frm where you may want to park and put yourself off duty, then roll on in where you had to be, the black box will not rat on ya, until you have gone 1 mile, so kept it under 9/10ths every time. LOL

And I have been told that if you kept changing duty status IE: put your self off duty every 9/10 of a mile it resets the clock again.

You may get away with that for a couple of miles so I have been told.
    :)

Yeah there's little things you can do to 'help' it along but it doesn't have the fudge factor the Qualcomm has built into it lol
