Is it forced dispatch? If prime put a load to canada or mexico on you and you refuse to go will they fire you?
-
Company is forced dispatch, lease is not. Prime trucks do not go into Mexico, only trailers do. -
Do they give people with criminal records passports? 2 misdemeanors on my record.
-
You should be able to get the passport, however, it is up to the country you are going to if you are allowed in. Usually misdemeanors in the US would not prohibit someone from going into Canada unless it is something, such as DUI, that Canada would consider a felony. -
The same normally goes for trucks, but due to the state the economy has been in the last couple of years, the manufacturers have been hard-pressed to keep up with the surge in demand for them this year.
steadytruckin and cwc Thank this. -
Mainly, if you have a felony on your record that restricts you from traveling abroad, then you wouldn't be able to travel into Canada or Mexico. 2 Misdemeanors would not effect that unless it was perhaps a drug charge. The final decision comes down to the country you are trying to enter.
So - basic answer, your criminal record would not effect you getting a passport. And most likely it would not effect your traveling as well. -
Thanks sazook, i guess i will be a rebel like seebs

You will have some free time here and there but I'd recommend you just spend it resting and looking over your pretrip.
After you leave with your instructor, you won't have any free time. Your free time will be spent eating/showering/sleeping.
You won't get any official home time until after you go out with your trainer.
Company - 'No' forced dispatch
Usually if you refuse a load (that you legally can do), your FM might 'punish' you by making you sit a couple days or by giving you really short loads.
steadytruckin, cwc and Everett Thank this.
