good we did 57 all d way there and d ppl in cali/seattle were great guards in Seattle said we could stay here if we wanted after we dropped our trailer but we didn't and that does explain why FedEx drivers are ALWAYS in a hurry

True we sent our departure in at 0040 and got a message that morning that the time had changed to 0140 instead of 0130 I wonder how often does prime do loads for FedEx

We supply excess capacity for them these days - we get more of their loads as the holiday season approaches. There was a time many years ago that FedX was 80% of Prime's business.

Yes, you can take the truck home. AS long as you have a secure place to put it. You get one day off for every week out. If you take more thang 2 weeks off, you have to turn in the truck, youll get a new one when you get back.

So all trucking companies ask for a 10yr. employment history when you have a cdl, but if prime wants you to be employed for the last 3 yrs. you would not need to put the last 10 on your app would you?

If you haven't had experience commercially driving a vehicle, then yeah, its the last 3 years they ask for. The 10-year history is mandated by the FMCSA.

So what if i surrender my cdl and just get the permit at dmv, even though i had experience 2yrs. ago that would start over my cdl experience to 0 and i will be able to just put the last 3yrs. employment on the app. right?

    No. That's two different things.

First, the CDL law requires that you only have one license in your possession. When you get your permit the state DMV that you do that at will run a computer check, and if you haven't coughed-up the CDL they'll be asking for it before they issue the permit. This has nothing to do with your previous experience. They have access to driving records from all 50 states.

Second issue is previous driving experience... the FMCSRs require that you disclose ALL previous commercial driving experience within the last 10 years. If that experience is within the last 3-1/2 years, its recorded in the federal CSA database. If you don't voluntarily disclose this, Prime WILL find it during your background investigation, and you'll be paying your own way home after they kick you out of orientation. They use professional investigators, and they're very good at what they do.

Advice: Be painfully truthful about everything in your past on that application - both the online application and the one that you do in pen and ink at orientation. Make sure they match. Own up to everything, and if you haven't, call your recruiter immediately and fess-up.
