I think that was pretty good for them to do that. I would have done the same thing if it were a manager at the time. I consider myself a trouble shooter, I hang in there until the problems are solved and will not happen again. I want drivers to come to me with their issues, because it's really the drivers who build these companies.
    Thanks:biggrin_25514:

Eagle eye... That's pretty good. The reason is he asked you to talk to him first because he is a good manager, not a boss.
I would have done the same thing too. I consider myself "The worlds worst mind reader".

Communication and accountability is the key. We need to fix the issues in order to prevent them from happening again.:biggrin_25514:

I wonder who his driver manager is... I wouldn't take this lying down. We would have an appointment with the powers to be and get some compensation from this issue. I have no problem at all letting upper management know what they don't know.

Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and by many state constitutions and state and federal laws. The freedom is not absolute; the Supreme Court of the United States has recognized several categories of speech that are excluded from the freedom of speech, and it has recognized that governments may enact reasonable time, place, or manner restrictions on speech.
Criticism of the government and advocacy of unpopular ideas that people may find distasteful or against public policy, such as racism, sexism, and other hate speech are almost always permitted. There are exceptions to these general protections, including the Miller test for obscenity, child pornography laws, speech that incites imminent lawless action, and regulation of commercial speech such as advertising. Within these limited areas, other limitations on free speech balance rights to free speech and other rights, such as rights for authors and inventors over their works and discoveries (copyright and patent), protection from imminent or potential violence against particular persons (restrictions on fighting words), or the use of untruths to harm others (slander). Distinctions are often made between speech and other acts which may have symbolic significance.
Despite the exceptions, the legal protections of the First Amendment are some of the broadest of any industrialized nation, and remain a critical, and occasionally controversial, component of American jurisprudence. thanks to Wikpedia..

some recruiters really want the drivers they sign to be long term drivers,
so that way they build a database of good drivers instead of drivers that
say they want to work but you can never get a hold of!!!

After working years for Waggoners, my husband and I reluctantly resigned. In return for our years of service, Waggoners blacklisted us: they reported on both our DAC records that we had been "terminated" and that we were "no shows", and on my husband's they put "abandoment"-all things are totally untrue.
We had to bring a lawsuit/arbitration against Waggoners for their defamation of our character and work ethics. The arbitrator ruled in our favor on defamation and even ordered Waggoners to pay thousands of dollars in punitive damages for defamatory statements in our DAC report. The arbitrator said the punitive damages were for Waggones defamation of our character (because of the false Dac report). He said that the defamation was "malicious" and that it was a "reckless, wanton disreguard for our rights."

I don't have nuttin bad to say about any company, brokers or drivers....my husband and i have had our own authority for 5 years. However i will say this...laptop,printer,cell phone, fuel card account....that is my portable office in the truck. Good gps. Great communication skills. We get our rest,as well as work hard, always on time and keep our loads to a minimum of 3-4 loads a week. We don't run home every week. We have a down time account...we have fun @ what we do.as well as make our money.scenario: We don't book a load until we know we have another book load to follow.....if the load is 900,i can.t move it unless i get 1800....so 4 loads @ nuttin under 2$s a mile we average about 6000 a week...i like being positive....too much negative,ok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any recommendations from anyone what to do if my Hubby hasn't been paid for a run he did going on 8 weeks now? This happened during his first couple months of employment with this Company- that we won't mention.

He was waiting for his trailer to be unloaded to get the BOL and get a new trailer. After hours of the trailer sitting there in the loading dock he went to check on it and they said, "they'd have it for him soon". A couple more hours go by (he should have never been there this long as it's been all day by now) he goes back up to get the BOL and gets stopped by the guard asking him what he needed. He explained and the guard told him the person he could get it from went home for the day. The guard was furious that this happened and instructed him to go ahead and take a different trailer off the lot and he'd have to come back to get it (the BOL) tomorrow.

He was out of driving hours by this time and called his Fleet Manager who told him to just find the nearest place to park and not worry about the BOL, they'd get a copy of it.

Since then, he has been reminding the "3" different fleet Mgrs. he's been assigned to that he'd like to be paid for that job (which was about $125 haul) and the company keeps telling him they are working on it, but are having troubles getting a copy of it. I personally don't understand why they'd have so much trouble, but either way they know how many miles he drove to get there and that is "was" delivered or they surely would have heard about it. So, I think they should have paid him that 1st week or asked him to get it the 2nd time he was there.

I won't name names, but this Customer is a huge client of the companies, so doesn't this sound like BS to you? Also, he delivered there again about 2 weeks after this incident and the same thing almost happened again, except for that my Hubby didn't wait in his cab this time, he stood up by the dock waiting for hours for them to unload the trailer and it just so happened the same guard was there and couldn't believe that he was there that late again! Had he "not" stood up there he wouldn't have got his BOL again and if his fleet Manager wouldn't have made it sound like he'd get paid that week, he'd have asked for his previous one then too!

So, my honey, who doesn't like conflict must have had enough because he's going to be right by there again on Sunday and says he's going to stop in there and ask for the original BOL he hasn't been paid for!:biggrin_2559: What do you think of this idea? It shocks the h**l out of me!:biggrin_25525:

Really....I think his company is blowing smoke up his #####!! He's a great driver, is always on time, does everything by the book, never complains. I'll tell you, if "I" was him, they'd know who I was when I called by now! He puts up with so much BS working there! His truck has well over 700k miles on it and "always" has something wrong with it (to the point it's almost re-built) that they're in no hurry to fix (and twice it was the heat, so one night he just froze because his truck wouldn't stay idling like the mechanic told him to do). They also told him he can't get the 1st quarter bonus' that he qualified for, because he missed the start of the quarter by 3-4 days (when hired). The list goes on and on but it's always some BS!!

Is it just me, or would you other drivers have a problem with the stuff I've mentioned too? If so, what would you do about it?

    -Thanks for your input
