I went to Ft. Worth Star-Telegram and was trying to dig past what this post is warning about as well as a lot of additional stuff I see too often on the web and saw a claim by an ad that Werner is taking zero-time drivers .... I could do that and I can believe that decent companies can and will do that (sometimes ) but I am flat on the idea that I am not going to pay a "driver-training" operation when I probably have better skills than what they are going to say is an instructor and as well I have zero-tolerance for sales-as-authority so .......

I just recently graduated from Lancaster Career And Technology Center March 9,2012.
I am very very encouraged by this posting as i have thought through the whole 1-2 years experiance thing i decided " How Bad Do I Want To Be A Truck Driver".?
That thought motivates me to keep on keeping on.
I have been turned away about 5 times so far but thanks to this forum i will not give up cause i believe that " When God closes a door , He always opens a window".
I look forward to staying connected to all you other drivers cause we are not gonna give up here in Lancaster , Pa.

been reading this thread, even though it may not be easy to put in words things like who unloads the truck and if one is really suited to O.T.R. are only gauged by doing it ~ I would hang around a truckstop in mesquite decades ago wishing to be a trucker, later I thought otherwise as I was working in construction -- now with decades of working I can tell most start-offs that which company you work for is important but without a year O.T.R. there is really no way to know what it is about

Humm most of the companies he has listed has bottom feeders. drivers earn over 75K a year after they get experience under their belt. Yet most of the bigger carriers are self insured now a days and will take you right out of anytime truck driving school. Depends on what you what to do. Happy trails.
