I would love for all the pro mask/pro vax/pro lockdown/pro CNN/pro fear people to look at that link I posted and explain it.

I’ve made my own opinion abundantly clear in most of the covid threads, but I still like seeing opinions from others on both sides.Cattleman84, JoeyJunk, Kitty40 and 7 others Thank this. -
Here’s another empty hospital.
Richard Citizen JournalistJoeyJunk Thanks this. -
I went to the local hospital week before last for a chest x-ray as part of a physical, and I had to check in through the ER. It was completely empty. I asked a nurse if the ICU was full, and she said it was empty too. This is in a city of 60,000 people.

Why Crowdsourcing Often Leads to Bad Ideas
I have no idea what the gif you posted portrays - in terms of both context and authenticity. Me, I trust the people that I know, like Dr Ben Weston, Dr Matt Gray, Dr Matt Weston, and Dr Eric Boehmer.
Ben Weston, MD | Associate Professor | Medical College of Wisconsin
Matthew P Gray, MD | Children's Wisconsin
Dr. Matthew Weston Jr, MD, Anesthesiology Specialist - West Bend, WI | Sharecare
Eric D. Boehmer, MD, PHD
I went to college with Ben and his brother Matt, at the time they were friends, now they're more acquaintances. Matt Gray literally saved my life (very bad reaction to codeine cough syrup). Eric was and is a role model for me. When they speak on issues, I listen. I don't always agree but I strive to understand their point of view. When they speak on medical issues, I take heed. I know how smart they are. I know how hard they've worked. I trust in their integrity.
When Ben and Matt Gray told me that the Freodert Hospital system was stressed to it's breaking point last summer, I believed them. When Eric tells me he's seeing long term complications tied to covid, I believe him. When Matt Weston leaves his cushy private practice to help intubate patients I know there's trouble.
Every friend and acquaintance I have in the medical community has supported masking and the vaccine.
Have all of the covid precautions/processes made sense? Heck no, and more than a few have been counter productive. A good portion of that is due to the nature of the scientific process - hypothesis, test, analyze. The vast majority of the WTF? ideas come down to knee jerk reactions latching onto any promising idea. As this whole thing started Doctors were sharing ideas of "hey, this drug looked like it helped". Those comments got picked up by social media, then "normal" media as 'facts', which quickly turned into 'cures' in the public mind. Despite the medical community warning "hey, it's too early to say" hydroxychloroquine was bandied about as a pancea and a reason to end mitigation efforts. Hydroxychloroquine turned out to be a dud. The latest idea is a horse dewormer - spoiler alert, it doesn't work.
Most of what has been posted to social media has been blatantly false from it's first post or has been re-posted long after being proven wrong. Most of the covid related postings on TTR have been based from social media rumors or TV programs that the courts have ruled "satire". It's been interesting to me to see the number of 'bob tail' and 'light load' posters that only post on covid threads, but never anywhere else on the site. From that alone it's fair to question the veracity of their statements. When taken in full context, I do think it's fair to say most of this thread is misinformation.Lostmykey, NavigatorWife, ncmickey and 2 others Thank this. -
