We’ll see, there you go,leaving out important details. All you said was “dry van”.
Anyone can post big numbers on critical loads that don’t go that far.
Is that the norm? Not by a long shot.
Are rates up? Yes, but not at the level you posted on general freight.
Been doing this since 1977, so it’s not my first rodeo.

Not in the least, my turn arounds are nine times out of ten less than an hour. And I am serious, this stuff has to go. And if I do sit, $40 an hour or more. Load cancels $200. My average week is 1000 miles to 2000 miles. Average NET take home is normally around $2.50+ a mile. Those are IFTA miles, including all dead head and screwing around time. This last week was $2.66 a mile NET on 2008 miles. I started on Monday afternoon and finished Friday night.

I don't haul general freight, I stated matter of factly I haul expedite. Is every load big bucks, NO. But as of late, $5+ has been the norm, usually MUCH more. It all depends on the load. My average week is normally under, 2000 miles. I worked four days this coming settlement, I think 900 IFTA miles, 11 loads and never was farther than 100 miles from the house. Take home will be $2,700 net, after fuel and expenses. I don't think that is bad, and I didn't go far. That worked out to roughly $3 a mile NET take home after fuel. The loads are light, rarely over 15,000 pounds. I am not complaining. To note, my truck is paid for, the house is paid for, and yes, it is a real house with property, one Home Depot credit card with a zero balance, and a leased Chevy Silverado, and insurance and cable. I'm very happy. ;-)

My initial reply was to your initial response.
No mention of expedited freight, just “dry van”.

    Steel Dragon Thanks this.

There is no point showboating rates publicly without backing it up with the load sheets and details. Otherwise all you do is stir up drivers into a unnecessary lather and bother.
