Back at Dart

Yes, I typically net around 1200 or so and that's after all deductions (tk pmnt, all insurances, maintenance fund, satellite, etc) depending on the miles; as you know it varies week to week. I tend to look at my income over the previous quarter and compare it to last quarter, then use that to try and project my next month for budgeting purposes. I'm getting around 2700mi or so a week pretty consistently so I'm netting around 43 cents/mile, which kind of means I'm more or less working for my fuel surcharge. When the surcharge goes down so does my fuel expense so it kind of stays about the same. (If any of you guys with questions decides to come aboard tell 'em Driver 64039 sent you!)

 

Picked up in Green Bay last night then shut down. I was wiped because I came up here at the same time that everyone in Chicago was coming up for the Big Game. I had no desire to fight a bunch of angry Bears fans trying to get back south. Gotta be in Jacksonville FL by Sunday night. No preplan so far, but if they do like they have been I'll have one before I get there. Gotta get my bunk heater looked at, and the driver's side steer has a leaking hub seal--probably going to stop in Chicago at the dealer to get it looked at. Until next time!

 

Have gone nowhere yet, waiting for road service to come fix the 3 bad tires, dragging air line, and misadjusted brakes on this #@$% trailer. In the truck stop watching Muppets From Space with a couple of other Dart-ites. Did an inspection when I picked up the trailer but it was pitch black and even with a flashlight you can miss things...good thing I did a good walkaround before I left this morning. Half my day blown to bits! Oh well...I've dealt with much worse. I just wish the other guy would have checked the thing out and at least wrote it up.

 

This is a Sterling kit car. No reason for the post really; I just thought it was extremely cool.

 

Luke the Wonder Dog...he'll stare at me like that for 4 or 5 miles at a time, then go back to watching the world go by. Left him with the wife and kid last time I was home. Still getting his nose juice off of the windows.
