As the title says, I'm back in the saddle again. My 5 month foray into towing and car haul equipment sales didn't pan out the way I had hoped it would. Nothing against the company I went to work for, Pat, Dave, Rocky, Randy and the whole bunch are first class people and gave me every chance to succeed. Some folks just are not salesmen, and I am one of those folks. I sold exactly two F-650 rollbacks and two Landoll 835 Paver trailers in five months, in LA of all places. That area is ripe for the picking, but as the song goes "All the Gold in California is in a bank in the middle of Beverly Hills in someone else's name".
I am going to do things a bit different this time, bought one of my old rigs back from my former partner and just spent the last week getting her road ready again. What a chore, it hadn't moved since I parked her in February so Victor was glad to sell it to me, but man how quickly things deteriorate when parked with some road salt on them. The trailer will eventually need a complete blast and paint, but for now a good washing and some touchup will have to do.
So, for the different part, I don't want anything to do with a partner or running a dedicated route where I must go or else, so I will be running irregular freight across most of the eastern and midwest lanes. I will be leasing onto Victor, easier to use his authority that has been established for 15+ years, and much cheaper for me then getting a stand alone insurance policy. I may run an occasional run for him for old times sake, actually will be doing a Albany to Newburgh auction run on Friday for him.
So if you see my silly looking no stack Mack with a small shack on the back don't be afraid to say hi! Even you real car haulers, it is ok this high-mount driver will talk to you as well LoL.
Back in the Saddle, Again, leasing on to Victor.
