I've been waiting for the part promised by dealers for more than 2-3 months, what's going on? I had to overpay money 5-10 times on Ebay for this part. Who has the same problems?

Go check out any dealer and you will find the answer. My local Freightliner has been full of trucks waiting on parts. Been like this for over a year. It’s a high volume shop. It’s been so bad they have to get creative in parking them and its a big lot. CA149E08-5890-47E9-8164-3D2B4CEA4719.jpeg

That pic is nothing compared to what it currently looks like.

I was at Ford getting parts this week. Same thing. Luckily my pickup is a 2013 and semi is 1998. I have had no issues getting parts for either one.

Covid-1984 shutdowns created a massive ripple effect in the supply chain. It's been going on for over a year.

KW dealer down the road from where I work was packed full of brand new trucks 2 years ago. Well over 75 new units. The other day I counted about 6 or so.

I've been lucky with Ford parts too. I know my truck will need ball joints and tie rods in the next year or so. I've been acquiring the parts ahead of time so I have them for when its go time. I like keeping at least 1 spare oil filter and oil on hand for it as well.

Freightliner has been steadily gaining NEW inventory. They got burned recently trying to buy and resell used trucks. Wanted to take advantage of the market and got greedy. Ended up with some trash trucks that needed so much work it wasn’t worth it. Someone screwed up lol.
