I'm there. I like it but they now have driver facing cameras. They say it's not going to spy on you but it is watching . I was going 68 in a 70 for hours and it said " please slow down" every 10 minutes

 

Yes, take whatever job you can get and turn on the experience clock. I look for jobs all over the country every single day. I have for the better part of two years. I found myself a really good job and I still look everywhere everyday. I also stay on top of the market closely. Whether you like it or not, you're starting close to zero. It's because of the insurance. Now you may find random places that will count your previous experience, but for the most part it has to be within the past 3 years, and a lot of places are actually 5 years. Every where is a little different. I can absolutely personally guarantee that if you get 90 days of recent veritable OTR experience, you can find a job somewhere that will meet all or at least most of your criteria. Especially if you don't care what the sticker on the side of the truck says and you don't care what you haul. If you want to get super picky then you might need closer to that one year mark. But companies are looking for drivers right now. I'm seeing pay going up across the board. Even some megas are already giving raises. I could get 80 cents a mile all day any day right now, anyone with a year could. If I was you, and I wanted to make things easy on myself, I'd sacrifice for a few months, I would suck it for 90 days, and start calling other places while you're already working. So much easier to get a job when you already have one. I'm telling you 90 days is the new 12 months.

 

Y'all tired of spinning your wheels yet ?

 

1. I understand not wanting to go to New York City.
2. If you're going to be OTR, I'm pretty sure the company will have a rider policy.
3. The company won't put you under a Hazmat load if you don't have the endorsement on your license.

I don't know of too many companies that don't have in-facing cameras nowadays. I made sure that I never did things behind the wheel that would warrant them to terminate me while I was under surveillance at JB Hunt & USA Truck. Being out of the industry for so many years puts one at the bottom of the totem pole. Take a refresher course @ one of these mega and Vaseline up that rear-door as you work to complete that contract. The world will be your oyster after that

 

I had hazmat in 2008. I left trucking for 14 yrs and let it all go. 2022 I got back in. I was grandfathered from B4 they required a course and didn't have to take it. Only had to take the written to get the endorsement. But that Texas.

 

You're right. The states I listed have the towns they hire the most from, but not limited to just those towns.

 

I moved on because the pet policy wouldn’t allow me to bring my cat. But I recommend them to anyone looking for a decent gig. Payroll is always spot on and equipment was decent.
