I was local driver from october 2020 to may 2021. I needed to quit because of medical problems
Now I would like to go back to trucking. But almost every single company I contacted told me that they need recent experience which mean at least 3-6 months of experience in last 12 months.
My zipcode is 18974 and I am looking mostly for local job and maybe possibly something with weekly home time.
I would prefer local job, but under certain conditions I can consider weekly home time.
If weekly home time, company need to have pet riding program (I have a cat) and driving between same points like from Pennsylvania to Maine and back. (Basically usually same routes)
In my area werner and schneider have local jobs but no opening for last 6 months ( I guess they have enough people )
I also tried JBhunt, USxpress, CFI, NFI, FFE but same results.
No tickets/accidents. I dont have endorsements, but can do tanker endorsement (no hazmat) and it have to be no touch freight.
Any recommendations will be helpful
Thank you
Back to trucking

Try this one right here....this may suit your needs
Pennsylvania Jobs - RC Moore Careers -
You might give these a try....
Central Transport -- local, home daily -- 6 months exp reqd -- Hatfield, PA
I know you've already tried Schneider--but an open position is JUST THAT.....
Schneider -- dedicated truck driver -- home weekly -- drive the NE -- Fairless Hills, PA
With both of these -- you will very likely have to make alternate arrangements for the cat, until you get back home. The CDL job market right now is kinda tough--you might need to make a few personal concessions, in order to get that started.
After you get in at least a year of "seat time"....more opportunities open up, and some should be pet-friendly.
Suggestion: in the meantime--get ALL those CDL endorsements: tanker, hazmat, & doubles/triples. Those endorsements are door-openers--and money-makers!!!
Also: don't be spooked by hazmat.
Many dry van loads of hazmat are everyday items like hairspray, nail polish remover, charcoal, paint, etc. Items that are no big deal, really.
If you skip/pass on hazmat--you will leave A LOT of money on the table over the course of your career....
