The last job I had was driving for a Town Car service. Lasted 5 months. The only driving job I ever had. One early morning (dark) turning a corner I ran over a small island/median that wasn't painted and the reflector was already knocked over. It caused some damage. The next day I was let go. Other than that my past is squeaky clean.
Will that prevent me from finding employment as a truck driver? Will it show up on my background check? Should it be on my app? I need to know before I invest in school.
Thanks
JB

Yes you were let go by Town Car company, they definitely will kept that recorded. but only one preventable accident is ok for you to find the next driving job. Be careful not to hit anything again not even an ants ok.
Peace and let be safe out there.mje Thanks this. -
If there was no ticket or police report it will not show up on DMV report. It will most likely be reported when your future employer does your employment verification but it should not stop you from being able to find a job. If your app asks for any previous accidents I would write it down because honesty will pay off in the long run. Best of luck to you.

Be honest about your record. Answer any and all questions asked and try and document anything that you can. It won't help , but 1 little thing like that won't go away either.

Thanks for the replies.
I just looked at the Prime website and they say no more than 3 accidents or moving violations in the last 3 years. So i guess I'm good to go.
I should put it on the app though.mje Thanks this. -
For Prime!!! If your 3rd Grade Teacher gave you the nick name of Bowinkle you should put that on the app. they have the means and ability to find anything, I think their system should be given to the Gov. so find all of those pedophiles and the escaped prisoners! There system is fool proof, if you have something that has happened to you they will find it, they will verify your previous employment and every other thing, Are you going to a school to get your CDL and then you are going to Prime? If you are getting your CDL Why are you going to Prime? There are many companies that will treat you better, Even Central you will not be put in a truck and treated as a team driver!
I wish you well, Stay safe, Stay on the forum as much as you can, there is great knowledge here!mje Thanks this. -
be honest about it. if there was no police report taken. then the insurance company won't find out. and that is what they care about . so put it on the application as an inccodent. and as your fault. they will check your records to see if it shows up. what the town car company says about it means nothing. just as long as there was no tickets or police report for it.

I start school on Monday. Today I called a recruiter from Prime and she said since I was let go from my last job they won't hire me.
This obviously has me a bit worried.
Any suggestions?mje Thanks this.
