The fuel gauge on my 06 volvo 670 is giving me false signals. Here are the symptoms
1)The other day i filled the tanks up and the fuel gauge stayed on full the whole week.
2)When i hit the brakes, the gauge starts slighting to empty and then starts leveling as i climb a hill.
    3) gauge goes and stays on empty when the tanks are half full

I took it to a vovlo dealer and they replaced the sending unit and the ball thats in the tank. still go the same problem. The only thing they can do is replace the gauge cluster. I dont know how much thats gonna cost. This problem does not affect how the truck runs. Its irritating since i am an o/o and i have to find cheap fuel which is mostly in the mid west and down south.

    Any advice is appreciated. thx

Find a stick and use it to stick the tanks,.......And keep track of your mileage,.....That's a whole lot cheaper than replacing the gauge cluster

    Big Don Thanks this.

Good Lord Just reset your tripometer when ever you fuel. My fuel gauge hasn't worked in three years and I don't have to "stick" either. This such a Non issue

I agree,...But the original poster might need a bit of a comfort zone until they get things figured out,...That is where sticking the tanks comes in,...
