Moh's surgery is what they use to treat basal cell carcinoma. I had it on my scalp in 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Doctor cut off a portion of skin and sent it for testing at the onsite lab while I waited. Process repeated until BCC no longer detectable.
The worst part came after I asked the doctor if any hair on top of my head would be left after my procedure.
SOB said: "What hair?"The_vett, Rideandrepair, Numb and 4 others Thank this. -
One was in a tattoo on my shoulder. The doctor said I may damage the tattoo, is that OK? He said, some patients get real upset about that.
I told him I couldn't care less about that.
My problems started when working outside on ships deck with no hat, for years.Last edited: Aug 31, 2024

Mom and I have both had that Mohs surgery. Mom had a huge slice on her forehead. I had it on my nose but was a small one. My arms are sun damaged from working outside in the Texas sun for a decade. I was in my 20's then so was bulletproof lol

I have a spot now on my right cheek, about an inch from my eye. It’s been an on and off flaky spot for years. 20 + yrs ago, I was told by a Dermatologist it was nothing! About 6 mos ago, after shaving it off, it suddenly changed into a wart looking thing. They cut it off, said it was positive. Still haven’t been back. I imagine the hole left may be a bit larger when they get done digging. Something I need to get done soon. Surprised it wasn’t on left side. Left side has a lot more wrinkles from years of driving.

I know of a couple of people that said, the spot isn't growing, so I'll worry about it when it grows or spreads.
What they didn't know is that it was spreading, but straight down like a screw drilling into their head. Once it reached the soft tissue of the brain there was no stopping it; it was fatal.
Get it taken care of while it's still an out-patient procedure.The_vett, cuzzin it, austinmike and 1 other person Thank this. -
I wrote about this a while back in the snows thread! LINK
