I’m seeing mid 70’s which seems kinda low because I was getting 60+ before I went to a few companies that pay hourly.

Yeah, 12 years with one place and then a bunch of places in under 2. Some I washed out in training, can’t lift heavy #### like I could in my 30’s anymore, and I’ve been turning down OTR stuff. Frankly, I wanna get out of the truck and find a 9-5 I can work until I retire but good lord HR departments don’t like truckers. And since I spent 12 years in one place, all my office management, retail and customer service experience is too far down the resume to list.

    201 Thanks this.

Temp services can probably place you in a decent job.
I worked for one a long time ago. Sent me to a trucking company and told me to not reveal my pay to the other drivers because I'd be making more than them. Kept my mouth shut and just listened and observed and found out I was making $3 more per hour than the regular employees there. The temp agency told me they can do this because the trucking company isn't paying benefits for me. That was just fine with me, because I didn't plan to stay long anyway.
Some temp services do have some benefits. I wasn't interested though.

Uh you will be lucky to make 60cpm. Pllaces like Barrn Nunn are paying 70cpm but you will be NE and low miles. Not sure what kind of hauling you are looking for.

Thanks guys, I haven’t had too much trouble in the past finding hourly. Especially east PA and willing to go into the NE. I just wondered what the average cpm was these days. 70 still seems low unless you’re running hard, but I guess that works out to,,, $42/hr when you’re moving. The problem is? You’re not always moving.

If a company is also paying for your time 60 cents is great. Don't work for companies that don't also pay for your time. This is trucking and you've been doing it long enough to know that straight mileage pay means you're gonna be wasting a lot of time and effort for ZERO.
