    Bought a Kenworth T660 Cummins, 13 speed, 3.55 on a lease return. 350,000 miles.

I've been at it long enough to not "bank" on anything but I guess I did figure it would be a little better.

We pull tanker with fairly short hauls. Lots of 50-100 mile hauls and some up to 250. At first we were in the 5.9 - 6.9 range and now we are down to 6.1 over the last month. Yes we have to idle/pto some loads on and off. Came with new virgin big ugly lug Yokohoma tires which I don't think helps. Yes check engine light came on a couple weeks ago and shop said a couple oxygen sensors are failing or something.
One thing that did amaze me is the mpg readout on the dash is dead on with the pumped gallons and miles ran.

Heck my Cat C15 with close to a million on it averages 6.0 and it never has a check engine light on.

Yes I knew this would happen. But figured it would be 6.5 -7.

Just wanted to make sure the younger leaner bank accounts were aware.

If you've got bad oxygen sensors or Def issues your fuel economy will suck. I would expect things to go up once you have the sensors working right(ish)

Just like in cars, bad 02 sensors make the computer use more fuel to compensate for the "lack" of oxygen. Should see a bump in economy if you replace them.

My N14 Celect+ with Aftermarket DPF still averages 7.5 mpg with Bridgestone M726EL Lug Tires, which is the same MPG before I had the Aftermarket DPF installed.

These new Post Emissions trucks with all their computers and sensors are worthless Money Pits.

Lol I have a few trucks my newest being a 15 kw glider with a 60series Detroit it gets around 7ish the 05 with the same engine gets the same! The 86 with a 3406B cat gets 6- 6.5 . All them fancy computers that optimizes fuel economy is b.s. My old 86 is mechanical and gets almost the same as the newer one!!
