My company pays me if I'm broke down. If I'm on percentage I get $150, if I'm on salary like now, I still get paid so long as it's not because of something I caused

Three weeks without a pay check? A man needs to be paid some, or let go. I would never wait that long.

Correct, Even if I'm at home. So long as I didn't cause the breakdown, my company doesn't penalize me for being broke down. However they will get me a loaner truck asap

Some companies do, most don't. If he's on the road yes, you pay. Call the local labor board to see what they say about your responsibilities are. This happened to me about 20 years ago at my local Walmart office and at the time my terminal had no spare trucks on the yard, so they paid me for one day. They ended up renting me a tractor the next day, but that was just Walmart.

No. Do not pay the man at home.

I don't care if the truck needs a totaled and replacement. He is at home. Not running miles. Do not pay him.

What you might do is send him to unemployment. A few weeks on 100 dollars a week will get him out of there soon enough.

What the driver needs to do is find a paying job. If you can't pay them they're no longer your employee.

i have a unique situation. all my company drivers get paid $10 per hour. on the job breakdown. we do not stay home if the truck breaks down, as we have leased trucks, my company simply calls the leasing company, and viola, we have a spare truck.
