Bent the lower fuel tank step on my truck

You are not the first to hit a scale. I promise you you won’t be the last. I rubbed one in Greenville Mississippi this year. Harvest time, dusky dark. Elevator dust and headlights everywhere and old man eyesight to boot. At a crawl no damage but sounded like an atomic bomb. Didn’t move looked to see what to do before backing off. Hurt my pride but it happened.

it seems the new drivers to the industry last few years think the slightest thing will end yiur careeer. Boys they can’t eat you not will they take your birthday. And if they are truly that chicken #### they ain’t worth working for anyway.

 

Some years ago I chuckled with a buddy of mine about a guy that knocked all of his lug nut covers off on a scale at a cement place we were delivering to, you know those fancy chrome spike kind? Wasn’t so funny when I got back to the yard and realized they were mine . Crap happens, just own it and move on.

 

I'd keep an eye on that kid. Future truck driver?

 

Check with dealerships and see if they have the part.

Smokey Mountain Freightliner fixed me up in a similar situation sbout 20 years ago.

 

Yes take the bolts out and throw the step away then order a new step if the boss notices it b4 you can replace the step tell him it must have fallen off or some dam truck driver must have stolen it.no harm no foul
