I had a little.. and I mean LITTLE! Radio shack unit when i first started driving. It had weather band and 40 channels. But that was a good little radio! It would get out and receive well. Very clear sound. Only bad thing was the weather alert on it. Any kind of warning and it would kill the CB band and go into NOAA weather alert until you turned it off and then back on. The loud ### beeping would scare the #### outta me! Just driving along enjoing the quiet and all of a sudden BEEEEPBEEPBEEPEBBBEEEEPEPEPEEBEBEPPEPEPEEEEEEPPPP!!! LOL

No! it is illegal to use a marine radio when in a car or on land for that matter
-
I love when they do that. i have a marine radio that can do that.
-
Pete I have the same kind except mine is like the Cobra they have rights to produce. Nice and big but needs tuning. Are the trucks equip with antennas and a power source? Am I allowed to post links in here?
King -
Depends on the company as to if they have antennas. They will usually have the two screw type power sources since they are pretty well a factory item. Dunno about the link. I guess wort case senario is they would delete the link.

I have this radio:

Dunno if i got screwed back in 05 or if I got good set but I am saving it till I get a better one. Anyone seen or have this CB?
King -
hey pete, i never said i would, but i have seen them go for more, especially in store.

Word. I gotcha now. I still can't believe that people still way over pay for things like this. I got my Connex 4300-300 for less than half of what they are in the shops. Less than what they are online as well. Still though, you can go online and get it waaay cheaper than you can in the CB shops. -
I agree, you can get the same brand and model import radio on line for less than a shop might charge. Online is where most of them get their stuff anyway. However, then you'll have to ante-up and pay the tech to convert your brand new, still in the box, import radio. Otherwise, it ain't gonna' work. Once that little detail is added to the cost of the "bought it on the internet" radio, you're back to about what the shop would have charged you for a new, converted, import.
-
The shops around here will sell you the radio, then charge you to take it out of the box and crack it open. Lose-lose I guess.
