Gemini/Love’s, Pilot Flying J, and lots of LTL outfits. If you do a search for tanker driver and ltl driver on indeed, you’ll see tons of jobs. Maybe Craigslist too. XPO will likely hire you in Clackamas. FedEx Freight has apprenticeship positions for new grads.

Have you worked for them? Do their terminals look like homeless shelters because of (a) the occupants or (b) the "decor"? Just wonderin'

Do you still need to chain up to get out of the Payette Idaho yard in the Winter?

    I wouldn’t be surprised. Lol

Speaking of Payette, that’s where I tested out to go solo. It was in the winter of 2012 and, yes, the yard was snow packed.

May definitely ain’t the place to go if you have an aversion to “chaining up”, as they say.

I have a brother who lives in Payette. His car wont make it up his incline driveway during winter and has to park it down below.

Payette is where Everette (May) started May Trucking. Started out as a small potato hauling outfit. At some point way before my time, they moved the headquarters to Brooks, OR.

Supposedly, whoever was running May (after Everette retired) decided to close Payette. That only lasted a few days. The story goes that when Everette caught wind of it, he went to the main office in person and told them they had about five minutes to get it back open.

That’s the story that used to go around about Payette when I was there.
