Best company to work for? Going to have all endorsements but no experience.

    Hi all,

I made a post "57 and starting over need advice" a few weeks ago. I asked about companies that had CDL training schools. Was going with Maverick and using their driving academy. Since then, found out I qualify for a full scholarship at the local technical college! Start in a month and intend to get all endorsements. So, my question now is what is a good starting company for a rookie? Between here and Reddit, there seems to be no shortage of first year horror stories. Talking to a Schneider recruiter tomorrow but have read they've really gone downhill lately. But it's the internet and people like to complain lol!

I'm in NE Arkansas but don't mind living in the truck for awhile and even moving to another state after I save up some money. Prefer no-touch loads or light physical work because I'm old :) Really don't want to drive on ice or snow. But I know these choices may not happen for a rookie. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    57 isn't old!

Don't be concerned about first year horror stories. Every company, no matter how good, has a few crybabies that like to make TikTok videos and whine.

When you decide to move to another state, come on out to Nevada; Clark County which encompasses Las Vegas & Henderson.

Clark County Nevada sounds good!I have a friend that lives in Vegas. Plus, I've never been out west.

Maybe when you're ready to change locations your friend will let you use his address so you can change the address on your CDL. You won't have to actually live there though; just fake it.
