No way in hell would i not be armed over there. Cause as you seen the convoy just left him behind to fend for his self with bullets flying. And they killed the guy in that flipped over rig just ahead. One of the rigs that passed him could have perhaps picked him up right qwick. Did you hear that one dbag driver say "who cares" after the guy says hes fixin ta get killed ? I would have meet up with that guy afterwards !

Yea,that other driver was a wuss for not stopping...Geeze man!
I would kick his arse if i lived to see him again.

No way i would attempt that job without being armed with automatic weapons, grenades and someone else riding shotgun fully armed and being lookout.
Maybe a 50 cal. in the cab too.

Strange the escort gunners did not seem to be firing back at anyone, they just hauled butt out of there.

I think i will keep my job here any day and make 50k...

Weekly paycheck, % of the bill, hotels paid and per diem for meals, low cost benifits, 401k, usually not gone more than 5 or 6 days.

    Just sayin'...:biggrin_255:

I don't see the hotels paid as being a good thing. If I have to be out long enough to take my 11, give me a decent sleeper with an apu. That way you can stop when and where you want. Daycabs suck when you are stuck in a situation where you have to take a nap.

I agree Big Don, the hotels are a pain in the butt..... running oversize I have to know where I'm gonna shut down at dark, call ahead to find a place with truck parking, etc. etc. I'll be happy to get in a tractor when it happens, we're working on it.

We are trying to get this W/S ready , but it needs about 5k in work on the air bags and brakes..... 60 series Detroit, E/F 13 Speed, I like the rig but management is trying to decide if they want to put up the $ or do some thing else.

Every truck manufacture, engine manufacture, truck componet manufacture has a fleet of trucks. Each one of those companies needs mechanic to work on those trucks and people to drive them. Work in a shop 5 days a week if you want or take a trip to the frozen regions of the north or the hot spots of the deserts in the summer. They don't really advertise. Took me two tries to get hired out of college at one company. Didn't even know that type of work existed.
