Best lease ever - A must read for everyone!

    And you can pretty much forget about coming home on a regular basis. You won't get the miles or loads to make that dog hunt if you're trying to come home every week to take your reset. If you're a young guy with no family who's okay with practically living in his truck for 2 or 3 years and basically having no life you can probably make it work.

    I am home every 3 to 4 weeks and take off anywhere from 7 to 10 days. I also take a 10 at home once a week on average.

    I leased twice, Dart good money junk truck and JCT good truck and junk money... Jct truck at Dart with Dart payment plan that would

    Me personally would never lease. If I'm not making enough to be able to put away about 50k for a decent used truck as a company driver. That just tells me they don't want me to buy a truck from them. I don't care what they have to say about any "Deal" or "Benefits". If they say they pay is better yadda yadda yadda. Are they paying me less than my worth as a company driver? Does they mean they will put the screw's to me as a O/O? But if I had to sign a lease. I'd get one from a company that in not in the business of owning trucks.

    Even with the crappy lease Celadon had, I was home 3 to 4 days every 6 weeks and still made money till they cut the fuel S/C. Incedentally, I am a company driver else where now and I can tell you the grass is definately NOT greener on the company side. and I am still only going home once every 4 to 6 weeks for 3 days and still just as broke. Going back to lease as soon as I find one I can make the numbers work on if I don't get conned back into an oilfield tanker job first.

    I know the numbers and there are lease programs out there that work and work well if you do the homework and take the time to break every one of them down and investigate the pieces carefully so to speak. Oh and not all lease programs charge more for the truck than it's worth, do your homework before making blanket statements.

    Most leases fail because they are basically a business that has no barrier to entry. Everybody can do it even with their 300 credit score, debt out the ###, child support payments and zero savings. A lot of the drivers can't even manage their lives or personal finances so how on earth do they expect to be able to run a business, which is what a lease is.

    I have been driving for 6 years 2 with Celadon 3 months as L/P havent brought home less than $725 after taxes most $1263 i have a lone star love it great truck one thing all of you seem to forget is all of these companies that hire students or train them with in a school are going to have a high turn over because on average a 20 yr old thinks he has a dream job until they get out here and relize what it really is like out here or what being away from loved ones is like so your going to have alot of turn over a lot then you got new guys plus & some what experianced drivers with less than 2 yrs on the road thinking they can run a trucking business lol again epic fail roped in by new trucks home time when they want but no money or bus. skills result turn over and then they fish on these sites for people with the same results and bad mouth a company. as a l/p with celadon its a 100% walk away lease you can go back to compay driver if you do jack things up to bad as a l/p bumper to bumper war. truck payment on rolling miles only go home for a week only pay the extras qual com insurance ex. hit 180,000 miles there about you paid off the truck get a good acountant that knows about laws for trucking listen to the business advisers they have you should do fine

    And that is worth it? The risk and responsibility for company driver money?
    I certainly would NOT entertain it for anything like your highest figure, and I am leased to a carrier myself.
    We have company guys that take more than that home, and park the truck at the yard pretty much every weekend.
    Not meaning to insult anyone, but running a truck for that kind of money is why these "deals" exist.
