The job market for new drivers sucks.

Dozens of threads on here about new graduates unable to find a job.

Experienced drivers are having trouble, too

The "truck driver shortage" is a MYTH perpetrated by the major carriers so they can get "meat in the seat" to stop the bleeding of their 150 to 200 percent annual driver turnover rate.

The best places to drive are wherever the freight is, and wherever the freight is going.

The Interstate looks the same all over the country, except I-40 through the desert. And after an hour, you've pretty much seen the desert.

The best place to drive is out west in my opinion. Lots of open road and little traffic. The every day stuff you see out west is pretty amazing. You can set the cruise control and just keep rolling. Out west you have a lot more wind to worry about and mountains to drive over and the snow can be bad in the winter. Not a lot driving job if someone live out west but it fun traveling thru.

Do you mean the most work, or do you mean the most enjoyable? I drive out of Dallas, and there are a lot of trucking companies and a lot of trucks on the road, so it’s definitely a place to look.

And for my own tastes, I agree with Brandt, driving in the West is my favorite.

Job market is slower than crude oil in December.
Best scenery, highest number of jobs, easiest to find parking, bets roads, easiest cops? Best is different for everyone.

Things are different for everyone. I got 2cpm raise 2 month ago, and 4cpm raise 1 month ago putting me at 74 plus bonus. If you want to contribute to poverty and driver for a greedy mega for 50cpm, work is always available. Flatbed in Washington, Oregon Idaho might be a decent gig that will make you some money, however you’ll have to work hard for your money during winter time.

Southerner here, I-10 and I-40 preferably.. anything above I-70 is a challenge in the winter. I did 80 and 90 out west and it's a big hassle, especially Wyoming and Montana.. 80 and 90 east of I35 is ok in the winter as they have the infrastructure to keep the roads decent most of the time.. I did enjoy driving out west though..beautiful country..
