I am needing a new mattress for my truck. The one that came with it sucks so I'm looking for any opinions?
there are several manufacturers, foam, and spring, who has purchased what and how comfortable are you?

BigRig Mattress off of I75 in NW Georgia....I am a superheavyweight and this mattress is the best!! They are on the web. They even met me at their warehouse on a Sunday and swapped out my old one for me. Good folks!!
    Elroythekid and BAYOU Thank this.

They are a manufacturer with direct-to-public sales. They came out to the truck, took measurements and custom made a mattress that has lasted 8 years and counting, and still feels like new. The only downside was finding thick enough sheets, but now the really thick mattresses are quite popular and the bedding is easy to find. This went on my list of top ten best purchases ever, for the truck.
    Elroythekid Thanks this.

Sure it will fit; you would just have a void at the end to put something else. I had a loaner once with a regular twin and didn't like it, but the lack of AC when most needed overshadowed everything else.:biggrin_25510:

I have a smaller bunk, so i use a single, but yes it will fit. I have a 5" void at the footend, but I use it to stow away my laptop and window screens. I'm 6'1" and my feets don't hang over.

I got a pillowtop Serta at the mattress store for $75. Better than all those "big rig" mattress places that charge you $400+ for the extra 5" of mattress
    MNdriver Thanks this.

I need to buy a good one too. I can't take more than 8 hours on my old OEM springs. I can lay all day at home in my waterbed. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

    everywhere, man
I've had some trouble with sleep over the years and found it worthwhile to invest in a high quality mattress. You have to measure because it depends on the truck manufacurer and sleeper configurations what your mattress size may be. If you can fit a regular twin, that may be your best option to buy a good Serta or Sealy mattress. However, Pete's for example are often narrower and will not fit a twin. I've tried Big Dog and it was comfortable memory foam but also got hot and sweaty, I've tried Big Rig Mattress and it is a pretty good option but lacks a foam strip around the outside so the ends dip down after awhile, and it has no top on it. If you live in an area that has Lebeda mattress stores, I recommend going there and buying a custom mattress. Don't let them cheap you out either, everyone has the idea that it's like a camper or something that you can get by with some piece of junk. You need to explain to them that you work long hours and need optimum restoration for every hour of sleep you get and you spend most nights on this mattress.
