    Hi going to the sp mill in quincy first time for a pick . Heading out of Sacramento what's the best route any help is appreciated

    Make sure you're not over length. See the links in the previous post.
    Take I-5 north to Hwy 70. Follow 70 through Marysville and Oroville. After Jarbo Gap you'll run downhill for a couple of miles and then follow the Feather River. The road has a lot of turns. Stay on your own side....you can do it if you work at it a little. Stay on 70 until you get to Quincy. In Quincy turn left at the first stop light you come to. Follow that road approximately half a mile and turn right on Lee Rd. Follow Lee Rd and the mill will be on your left. I don't know where the shipping office is now but there's a mill office on your right as you get to the mill itself. Somebody there can direct you.

    Im at approx 68 ft. Got a 48 ft tandem
    Having a little trouble with reading the map on my phone. Will the length be a problem or is it good?

    CHP does enforce this. Sometimes with check points, other times just a random check. Sort of comes and goes. Usually after something happens or complaints.

    80 east to 89 north. I don't have a MCRA with me right now but think that route is ok for length. It's also (I think) shorter than the Feather River Canyon.
    Good luck to anybody hauling for SP rates, hopefully you had a good load coming in.

    Prolly too late to matter.......but Google maps says my route is about 20-some miles longer. Almost all of 70 is a 65 ft. limit, on 89 only a short piece past Graeagle is. If you were to take 49 north from 89 and loop down on 70 through Portola you could be legal the whole route. We are not discussing the 40' KPRA rule here, no reason to make things even more confusing and further challenge my contention that California is the best state to truck in.
