best used semi truck to buy. Debating on a Mack or freightlinner

    It could be expenses each month. Nothing is cheap in Alaska. We owned a house in Fairbanks for almost a year and just the oil ranged from 600 to 1100 a month. Electric was another 300. IF we did not have those utilities going while it was for sale, Nature will destroy it. If you keep a moment and examine real estate in Alaska, you will understand the homes that don't have utilities active are soon damaged by nature to the point of having to be scrapped.

    We were very fortunate that year.

    Finally not last, If I was buying a tractor for Alaska work, it's going to be a heavier than usual tractor. With the understanding that we are not playing dinky 80000 pounds gross up there. More like 105K gross and built to do that job. Over built actually.

    Mack is a good platform when their engineers remember where they come from and build strong trucks that are relatively simple. But when they try to build gingerbread and all nice things goodies then the resulting trucks that come off the factory line is less than remembering of their heritage.
