One solution to faded aluminum is paint. My Dad had a DC-3 that was polished aluminum and in our salt air climate it was a constant job to keep it looking good. Somebody was constantly polishing on that thing.
He had it painted a super high gloss light gray and 90% of our polishing was eliminated.
The paint wasn't as shiny as freshly polished aluminum but it was close and it sure looked better than dull and pitted aluminum.
Just for fun we painted a set of aluminum truck wheels with Imron high gloss. That was four years ago and other than being washed with soap and water there's been no upkeep and the wheels still look good.
Try it, see how it works for you.drive-away2020, 650cat425 and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -

I tried 0000 steel wool and Wab #2 and it came out pretty good. Tried it on my dump trailer in the back on a small spot. Some guys say the left over fibers will rust and be hard to get off. It’s been a month now and I can still take a microfiber cloth and shine it back up. I’ve experienced no rust whatsoever. I’m going to put a 0000 piece on a palm sander with polish and see how that will work on a larger area
