Is that regardless of the width? Often times I will remove one or both (on a D8 with full U blade for example) if it is going to kick me over 14' and require a pilot car, but otherwise we don't mess with them.

Corner bits are the replaceable cutting edges on the corners of the dozers. Everything in between are cutting edges. Corner bits will wear the fastest, and are made thicker than cutting edges in the hope that they can all be replaced at the same time.

@skootertrashr6, it is nice to see that you have secured the dozer with opposing chains. It drives me nuts to see just one chain pulling sideways just to satisfy securement requirements.

just on the wider fixed blades, we do it on 7's 815's stuff like that. We don't do it on PAT blades. I would have to look up the specifics of the rules to find the exact regs.

My latest adventure. Short run, pick up in salt lake city Utah and Unloaded in vernal utah. Had an argument with our rental coordinator that I'd be able to get under 14' tall because the mast would lean way forward. It dropped the height by 3" lol, ended up 15' 6" instead of 15' 9"

On a side note, I was really frustrated with Utah and not being able to find a bridge clearance list. After talking with DOT they said that their new computer program does all the routing and anything over 14' tall needs to be ran by their office. Which is all fine and dandy, except if you are trying to plan a route while bidding a load. I guess they'll have to get used to getting phone calls for loads that may or may not ever move. Any other states that make this information a PITA to find?

I'm pretty sure if you put the rear tires on top of your rear hip, you will be under 14' because it changes the angle of the forks.

Copy. I'll have to give it a shot if I ever run across one again. My only concern would be getting enough weight on my drives to satisfy DOT. But I don't think that little thing weighed enough to really stress about it.
