The wind is pretty strong today and I am considering taking this route instead of staying on i94.
Is wind gonna be less noticeable going through there with an empty dry van, or should I not bother?

Check the Windy App on your phone. Your question is more of a weather prediction one than a route question.
In windy, just press on a location and it will tell you the wind speed and direction at that location.broke down plumber Thanks this. -

It won’t be protected any better than I-94. If anything, sometimes on two lane roads you’ll get higher winds at the ground level because it gets pushed through narrower cuts.
My friend in MT that runs empty bottles out of Calgary said it’s about 35mph out of the north over on 15. Windy shows wind out of the north today changing to mostly out of the west tomorrow.Hammer166, Deere hunter, broke down plumber and 3 others Thank this. -
