Just mentioning, I have known 2 people who have started machines before they checked to see if there was oil in them. One was a bulldozer driver out at the Chesser Island landfill in Folkston, GA. Burned up the bearings in less than 10 seconds. Hell, it seemed like less than 5. He got fired. One was a mechanic for us, started a brand new 2008 Mack daycab. No oil. It must have run for 30 seconds. The pistons fused into the sleeves. He also got fired.
Please check your fluid levels before firing up your truck. Something could have happened, some fluid could have all leaked out, and you are left with a catastrophic failure. Also, looking at fluid levels while the engine is cold is a good practice. Obviously, this is situational (can't apply if you've been idling the truck all night while you slept in it). I'm sorry. I'm not trying to be nitpicky. Just don't want something bad to happen to anyone.
